The Town Council’s Christmas Lights Committee held its first meeting of 2020 earlier this week.
Members were circulated with the budget comparison for the 2019 Festival and noted the event had been underwritten by the Town Council to the sum of £4,408.
Whilst members acknowledged the importance of the event to the town, supported by the positive comments on the enhanced lighting, the Council however had to question the sums involved and financial viability.
To assist with funding members agreed to form a fundraising sub-committee and would welcome community involvement.
