As the preparations ramped up for this year’s Festival, the team have had to take the unfortunate decision to cancel this year’s Beaminster Festival.
Here is the latest, direct from Beaminster Festival’s website.
2020 Festival Cancelled Due To Coronoavirus Covid-19 Pandemic
After continued monitoring of the Covid-19 pandemic and the government’s latest advice, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Beaminster Festival.
We are extremely disappointed that we cannot bring what would have been the 25th anniversary of the Festival to Beaminster this year, but in light of the advice that people should avoid non-essential travel and increase social distancing for some time to come, we have no option but to cancel.
It seems likely that cases of Covid-19 in the UK will peak in the weeks leading up to the Festival which was due to take place 27th June – 5th July 2020. We need to ensure the health & safety of all those attending and protect our community without increasing the pressures on the NHS and other services.
We plan to return with a wonderful programme of music, theatre, art, literature and community events next year.
We will be contacting our sponsors and all those connected to the Festival very shortly to outline the next steps.
