Boredom Busters: Great things to do while you’re at home, saving lives!
We know, the idea of staying at home for 3 weeks is not ideal. But it’s necessary in our united efforts to combat the Coronavirus. But being down-heartened by boredom is the last thing we should be feeling, which is why we’ve put together a summary of some fantastic boredom busters, and links to some pretty extraordinary people, doing their best to keep you occupied.

Virtual Tours of your favourite places
Whether you fancy strolling around the Louvre, or hop across the pond to the amazing Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC, brilliant places all around the world, have opened their digital doors and are letting you in. And if you’re not into museums or art galleries, well, there’s always NASA!
Take part in a daily Art Challenge
So many extraordinary people are doing extraordinary things – like our own Hilary Bamberger, who has been challenging fellow Facebook group-members to post their own work of art for the day, based on a particular theme. Here’s how it works: Every day, Hilary posts a daily challenge on the Beaminster Banter & Ranter and the Beaminster Local News, events & Chat Facebook groups, with a new daily challenge being set on something to capture. So far, participants have had the The Colour Green, Your Favourite Animal, Mother’s Day Cakes and The Colour Red as artistic themes. Running it for 30 days only, each day you will get a new colour or subject to include in your creation. All you need to do is then take a photo of your creation and post it to the Facebook group, and perhaps pop it in a window for people to spot as they pass by. The idea is to give people something to look out for, and see what other creators are doing at the same time! A great activity for kids to get involved in too – especially while the sun is shining, and creativity is found in the garden!
