Temporary closure of Tunnel Road, Beaminster (11 & 12 June)
We’ve received the following notification from Dorset Council about upcoming planned remedial works in the Tunnel in Beaminster next week.
Here’s the official update:
DORSET COUNCIL has issued a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along TUNNEL ROAD, BEAMINSTER at the tunnel, a distance of approximately 105 metres. The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 11 June 2020 between 1900 and 0700 and remain in force for five days, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 12 June 2020.
This Notice will enable SSE safe access to carry out remedial works in the tunnel.
The alternative route, which will be signposted is as follows: B3163 – B3164 – A3066
