Temporary Traffic Restrictions of B3163 Whitcombe Road / Hooke Junction
We’ve been notified of upcoming traffic restrictions being put into place on the B3163 (Whitcombe Road) / Hooke Junction. Here are the details:
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along B3163 Whitcombe Road/ Hooke Junction, Beaminster between B3163 Dirty Gate To Toller Down Gate and Whitcombe Road, a distance of approximately 3040 metres. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 25 June 2020 between 0930 and 1530 and remain in force for 18 months however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30 June 2020. The road(s) will be open outside of these times and also over the weekend. Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity and the road(s) may not be closed for the whole duration stated above and are also weather dependant. This Order can be extended with approval of the Secretary of State.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out surface dressing works with various forms of traffic management as indicated by signs on site which will include either road closures with local diversions in place or with temporary speed restrictions of 10mph to facilitate convoy working.
