CB3 Bus Services suspended due to Covid
An important notice re the CB3 Community Bus Service and message from Chris Turner.
I very much regret that, on behalf of Beaminster Town Council, and the CB3 crew, we are having to request a further suspension of service from and including Saturday, 23rd January 2021. Government advice is, understandably, again asking the public to avoid non-essential travel and in West Dorset, many people are taking it seriously. We have been lucky so far but even our numbers of Covid-19 cases have spiked recently. Bridport market has diminished somewhat and with meeting places and shops closed for the foreseeable future, there’s little incentive for social travel. Our passenger numbers have fallen off a cliff so it isn’t viable to be carrying one or two passengers a day or putting them and our volunteers at further risk.
The CB3 group are unanimous in agreeing to follow the socially responsible advice and I am, therefore, requesting a suspension until the Easter weekend, Saturday, 3rd April 2021. If the Government allows a relaxation of the guidance sooner, we will request a resumption of service. We keep our fingers crossed.
Thank you in anticipation and we all look forward to getting through this safely.
Best wishes,
Chris Turner, on behalf of Beaminster Town Council.
