It is with great sadness that Beaminster Town Council and its residents mourn the passing of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, our much loved servant of our great nation and beloved husband of Her Majesty The Queen.
An online Book of Condolence is available on the Palace web site: https://www.royal.uk/condolence and Beaminster Church have offered their grounds should residents wish to lay flowers, although it is respectfully requested that all packaging is removed from the flowers before they are laid. For anyone wishing to send a message of condolence who is unable to get online please contact the Town Clerk.
In line with the wishes of Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal household we would also like to welcome residents to support local charities in remembrance of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Given the long history of supporting children and younger people in his life, not least through the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, we at Beaminster Town Council would like to suggest residents support another local cause with the towns youth at its heart, The Prout Bridge Project. Support for their work can be given at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/pbpreachingout
The Union Flag is flying at half-mast at our Public Hall. The Town Council will continue to offer services as usual and conduct its business and meetings during the period of mourning.
