Plans for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations are well underway in Beaminster.
Jubilee Bunting will go up in the Square on Wednesday (18th May), there will be red, white and blue hanging baskets and jubilee flags to follow.
On Thursday 2nd June the Cricket Club will host a family BBQ evening at the Memorial Playing Field from 7pm which will lead into the Beacon Lighting Ceremony from 9.30pm. Jubilee Beacons are lit all across the Country at the same time to kick off the Jubilee Celebrations nationally.
The Church will also host two special events on the 2nd June, a lunchtime concert at 12 noon with the organist from the Chapel Royal Hampton Court and a service of Thanksgiving at 5pm.
On Saturday 4th June Parnham will host a Jubilee Garden Party (ticketed event).
On Sunday 5th June the Town Council will host a Jubilee Street Party in Beaminster Square between 12 noon and 5pm. There will be tables and chairs, live music, food and drink stalls, a bar, the best Jubilee Hat/Crown Competition for everyone, a Prince and Princess Parade for the children (1pm). Jubilee themed outfits are encouraged.
