Community Resilience Plan 2023
The Community Resilience Plan was first launched in 2008 by Beaminster Town Council to create a team that can respond to extraordinary events in a rapid and coordinated manner in order to withstand and quickly recover from a difficult situation.
The aim of our community resilience is to assist residents, businesses and the whole community to respond and recover from any emergency. The Plan provides an outline response towards potential emergencies, a key communication structure and contact details for incident management.
The plan is devised around three teams:
- Emergency Response Team
- Community Wardens
- Volunteers
Historically, the teams have assisted with extreme weather events, the Covid-19 response and co-ordination of the Covid-19 vaccination programme. They work alongside organisations such as The Environment Agency, Dorset Highways and the Emergency Planning Team at Dorset Council. The resilience team takes a proactive approach to their work by preparing in advance for possible emergency situations.
The previous Community Resilience Pan (2023) is no longer applicable.
Please await the new plan to follow shortly. Announcements will be made on this website and elsewhere.

Become a Community Warden
We are always on the lookout for new Community Wardens to join the Team. Community Wardens are given regular training, invited to meetings and are provided with a full set of kit. If you would like to give your time and help, please contact the Town Council on 01308 863634 or drop in to the Council Offices to find out more about what is involved.
