Beaminster Town Council Photography Competition – Terms and Conditions
- Promoter
The promoter of this competition is Beaminster Town Council. - Eligibility
2.1 The competition is open to residents of Beaminster and the surrounding area.
2.2 Entrants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or guardian.
2.3 Employees of Beaminster Town Council and their immediate families may enter but are not eligible to win prizes. - Competition Theme
3.1 Entries must reflect the theme “Beaminster Through Your Eyes”.
3.2 Photographs must be taken within the Beaminster area. - Entry Requirements
4.1 Each entrant may submit up to 5 photographs.
4.2 Photographs must be submitted digitally in JPEG or PNG format.
4.3 Basic editing (e.g. cropping, brightness, contrast) is permitted, but images must not be heavily altered or manipulated.
4.4 Entries must include the entrant’s name, age (if under 18), and a short description or title.
4.5 Entries must be submitted by Wednesday 13th May to [email protected] - Original Work
5.1 All photographs must be the original work of the entrant.
5.2 By entering, entrants confirm they hold the copyright to their images.
5.3 Photographs must not infringe the rights of any third party. - People in Photographs
6.1 If identifiable individuals appear in a photograph, the entrant must have their permission to submit and for the image to be used by the Council.
6.2 For images of children, permission must be obtained from a parent or guardian. - Use of Images
7.1 By entering the competition, entrants grant Beaminster Town Council a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use submitted images.
7.2 Images may be used for:
- The Town Council website
- Social media channels
- Printed materials
- Display within council offices and meeting rooms
- Promotional or community purposes
7.3 The photographer will be credited wherever reasonably possible.
- Judging and Prizes
8.1 Entries will be judged by a panel appointed by the Town Council.
8.2 Judging will be based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and overall quality.
8.3 The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
8.4 Winners will be notified on Friday 15th May. Prizes will be awarded at the Annual Council meeting on Tuesday 19th May. - Categories
9.1 There will be a dedicated category for entrants under the age of 18.
9.2 The Council reserves the right to create additional categories if appropriate. - Data Protection
10.1 Personal data provided will be used solely for the administration of the competition.
10.2 Data will be handled in accordance with UK data protection legislation.
10.3 Personal details will not be shared with third parties without consent. - Liability
11.1 The Council accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, or corrupted.
11.2 The Council reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with these terms. - General
12.1 The Council reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition where necessary.
12.2 By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
