Community Supporting Community In A Crisis

Beaminster Town Council has taken the lead on Community Resilience within Beaminster and developed a Community Resilience plan to ensure measures are in place to react to a variety of emergency situations from within Beaminster to provide support where there are delays in the arrival of a professional emergency response.

The Community Resilience Plan is currently being updated with regard to contact details and procedures.  In the meanwhile should there be an emergency situation details of those to contact are detailed below.

In the event of heavy rainfall and the Environment Agency having issued a flood warning for the river Brit sandbags are available from the Town Council for residents and businesses where there is the threat of imminent flooding of property.

If sandbags are required during office hours please phone (01308) 863634, for out of hours assistance please call a member of the Emergency Response Team:

Volunteers

There are many volunteer opportunities within Beaminster to get stuck in to. Whether it is with the church, youth groups, community resilience, town events and vaccination programmes or environmental programmes, the Foodbank, the Community Fridge, the information centre or clubs and organisations there is always some way to help.
