Beaminster businesses making their mark on the Tourism and Foodie awards maps.
We read the news today, oh boy! Awards and nominations, finalists and celebrations, and without doubt, Beaminster is making its mark on the map in terms of destination venues to eat at, places to be married at, even places to have your hair cut! So, we thought we’d jump on the proverbial band-wagon and shine some light on Beaminster businesses who are doing remarkable things in the heart of our community.

The Mapperton team have been working exceptionally hard to create an environment that is conducive to the amazing backdrop that is Beaminster and Mapperton, and their hard work has paid off. Newcomer to the wellbeing scene, this wonderful partnership between Beaminster’s The Ollerod and fellow-Dorset business Lovegrove Essentials, a Mother and Daughter partnership that has developed a range of beautiful skincare products that are natural and organic, is already making its mark on the map. Launched in February this year, the Lovegrove at the Ollerod experience invites customers to enjoy a range of wellbeing treatments from facials to massages where customers can relax and wind down in the beautiful garden in the summer months, or in front of a roaring fire in winter. Good luck in the finals, from all of us!
The Good Food Guide: Best Local Restaurant – Brassica Restaurant
We are incredibly proud of our own Brassica Restaurant who has successfully been awarded the title of Best Local Restaurant in
“Brassica in Beaminster is top in the south west in the reader-nominated Best Local Restaurant awards, a scheme run by the Good Food Guide by Waitrose & Partners to recognise the best neighbourhood eateries up and down the country. The Good Food Guide says of Brassica: “Former Londoners Cass Titcombe and Louise Chidgey set out to create a place that would encompass the concept of ‘hygge’– an idea they loosely translate as being with friends and family while eating and drinking – and they’ve certainly done that here.” – Bridport News.
Dorset Food, Drink & Farming Awards: Drinks product of the Year – Mapperton Estate
Mapperton Estate’s Montagu Cuvée has also been selected as finalist in the Drinks Product of the Year category in this year’s Dorset Food, Drink & Farming Awards. The awards, run by Dorset Magazine, aim to showcase some of the best regional suppliers and establishments that their readers have voted for and we’re thrilled that Beaminster is, once again, taking its rightful place in the region, as a destination venue, supplier and place to be!
These are just a handful of the amazing recognitions that Beaminster businesses and individuals are enjoying. This town is full of hope, full of promise, and is quickly becoming established as a place to not simply drive-through, but stop and spend a few days. Well done to all involved. You continue to make us all proud!
