Over the summer season, we’ve been blessed with some fantastic music in the square. From folk to fiddles, we’ve had some fantastic music entertaining us while we shop, and browse, and wander around. And as we start to change our focus to Autumnal events and chatter, we’ve had a few people ask us how to go about booking space in the square to do the same, so we thought we’d give you the detail you need to help you book your spot.
Events at the moment are tricky – Covid-19 continues to be a concern, and so too our requirements to adhere to social distancing guidelines, group gatherings and more. With that in mind, if you are, however, keen to raise awareness of your band or you as an artist, and you’re in the mood to try your hand at performing in the Square, here’s what you need to know.
How it works:
- To book your slot in the Square, you need to email Discover Beaminster on or pop into the Town Hall and tell us more about what you would like to do. Performance is done on application only and is subject to available slots in the diary.
- Your set needs to be completely self-supporting and contained, which means that you need to have your own PA system and setup. There is no supporting infrastructure available.
- Morning sessions run from 9am until 11am. Any bookings outside of this time need to be agreed with the Town Council.
- No road closures or restricted parking will be in place, unless arranged directly with the Town Council, and all performers are asked to please adhere to Health and Safety guidelines
So, whether you’re a singer, a stand-up comedian, a musician or more – we’d love to hear from you. Help us to build our Town Centre as the hub of community life in the lead up to this year’s Christmas events.
