CB3 Beaminster Community Bus
Run by our brilliant local volunteers since 2018 and supported by Beaminster Town Council, the CB3 community bus project began when Dorset County Council donated a minibus that was surplus to its own fleet and helped to train volunteer drivers for the service. The popular service provides a connection between Crewkerne, Beaminster and Bridport, via local villages, and runs on Saturdays.
In 2024, Dorset Council awarded Beaminster Town Council a generous grant of £16,000 to support the core revenue costs of the CB3 service. This funding not only secures the future of CB3 but also opens up new possibilities for rural connectivity. The grant has enabled the expansion of the CB3 route to include another rural village, South Perrott. The inclusion of South Perrott demonstrates the core purpose of the CB3 in improving transport accessibility for all residents, regardless of location. Whether it’s accessing essential services, connecting with friends and family, or simply exploring the beauty of Dorset, the CB3 service will now serve an even broader community.
The new route and timetable comes into effect on 22nd June 2024.
